Tasks and rewards on Sanctum
How tasks and rewards work on Sanctum: Dominants assign daily, weekly or one-off tasks, track completion and issue rewards, with no money involved.
What the feature does
Tasks and rewards is Sanctum's tool for running the structured side of a D/s dynamic. A Dominant can assign tasks to a submissive, follow whether they are done, and issue rewards from a catalogue when they are. No money is involved at any step. It is about the dynamic itself: the giving of instructions, the doing of them, and the acknowledgement that follows.
It works for in-person relationships that want a shared record, for online and long-distance dynamics where it provides the structure that distance makes hard, and for creators who run dynamics with their supporters.
Tasks
A task is an instruction with a schedule. Tasks can be:
- Daily: the same instruction each day, such as a morning check-in, a journal entry, an exercise, or a ritual.
- Weekly: something that recurs on a longer cycle, such as a written reflection, a photo of a completed chore, or a set piece of service.
- One-off: a single assignment with a deadline.
The Dominant sets the task and its terms. The submissive marks it complete. The Dominant can see what has been done and what has not, which replaces the scattered messages and lost notes that many online dynamics otherwise rely on.
Tasks are whatever the dynamic needs. They can be practical, devotional, educational, physical or playful. Many Dominants use them to build habits, to keep a submissive's attention during the week, or to give shape to protocol.
Rewards
When a task is done, the Dominant can issue a reward from a catalogue. Rewards are tokens of recognition within the dynamic: a privilege, an acknowledgement, something the submissive values. Because nothing is paid for, rewards keep the exchange clean. The point is being seen and being pleased with, not being bought.
Using it well
- Agree what tasks mean in your dynamic before assigning any. Are they expected, or offered? What happens when one is missed?
- Start small. One or two daily tasks that are easily done build the habit; a long list that cannot be kept builds resentment.
- Make rewards matter. A reward that the submissive genuinely values is more motivating than many that do not.
- Review regularly. Tasks that have stopped serving a purpose should be retired, and new ones added as the dynamic grows.
- Remember consent. Tasks are agreed, not imposed, and a submissive can always say that a task crosses a limit.
A Dominant and submissive can use tasks and rewards with no money changing hands at all, or as the structural side of a relationship that also includes subscriptions and tips. Either way, the feature simply keeps the dynamic organised.
