Events on Sanctum
How events work on Sanctum: finding munches, classes and parties, RSVPing or buying tickets with credits, and listing your own event.
What is listed
Sanctum events are munches, play parties, classes, workshops, socials, performances and online events, listed by the people who run them. Each listing shows the type, the date and time in its local time zone, the venue name and city, the price, and how many people are going. The street address, and the link for an online event, are shown only to people holding a ticket. That is standard practice in the scene, and it keeps a public page from doubling as a map to a private venue.
Anyone can browse the events page and filter by city or type. Each event page has a calendar download, and every event is for adults 18 and over.
Going to an event
Open the event and click RSVP for a free event, or Buy to pay with credits. Credits move instantly, so your place is confirmed the moment you click, with no reference numbers and no waiting for the organiser. Your ticket code appears on the event page and under My Tickets, together with the venue address or online link. Show the code at the door.
A few rules keep things fair:
- One ticket order per person per event, up to the number of tickets the organiser allows per order.
- Capacity is enforced at the moment of purchase, so an event cannot be oversold.
- If the organiser cancels, paid tickets are refunded to your wallet as credits automatically, and you get an email.
- A free RSVP can be released if you cannot make it. Paid tickets are refunded only when the organiser cancels, so ask the organiser if you need to pass yours on.
Listing your own event
Events are listed from a creator account, which is free to switch on. From My Events, click List an event and fill in the basics: title, type, date, venue, city and capacity. Then choose how people get in. Leave the price at zero for a free RSVP, set a price in credits to sell tickets here, or paste a link to wherever you already sell tickets and the event page sends people there. Credits are optional; a listing with an outside ticket link costs nothing and takes nothing. Add dress code and house rules if they matter.
Your event is public the moment you click publish. Sanctum may take down a listing that breaks its rules. Ticket credits land in your wallet like any other credits and cash out the same way. Price in credits to land where you want.
Once tickets are sold, the price and the capacity lock, so nobody is charged for a different event than the one they bought. The attendees page lists everyone who is coming and lets you check people in by their code at the door. If you have to cancel, do it from the edit page and every paid ticket is refunded without you lifting a finger.
What Sanctum does and does not do
Sanctum lists the event, sells the tickets and handles the refunds. The organiser runs the event, chooses the venue, sets the rules and is responsible for what happens there. Read the house rules, respect the venue, and treat the address as private.
