Credits explained

What Sanctum credits are, how supporters buy and spend them, how creators cash out at 75 cents per credit, and when to use credits over direct payment.

What credits are

Credits are Sanctum's optional way of paying instantly. A supporter buys a pack of credits, and from then on anything on the platform that costs money can be paid for with a tap, with no waiting for a creator to confirm a payment. Creators who choose to accept credits can cash them out.

Credits exist alongside, not instead of, direct payment. Every creator can still be paid through their own payment links, with nothing taken by Sanctum, and many supporters use both methods depending on what they are buying.

For supporters

Buy a credit pack and the credits sit in your account. You can spend them to:

  • Unlock a pay-per-view post immediately.
  • Tip a creator at any moment.
  • Subscribe to a paid tier without waiting for approval.
  • Pay for messages where a creator asks for credits per conversation or per message.

The advantage is speed and simplicity. There is no reference number to type, no request to submit, and no delay before access. For small, frequent support, such as tipping across several creators or unlocking a post you have just seen, credits are the natural choice.

Credits are spent on the platform and do not leave it as cash, so buy what you expect to use.

For creators

Accepting credits is a choice. A creator who accepts them can be paid instantly by any supporter who holds credits, which removes the confirmation step and tends to make supporters more willing to tip and unlock on impulse.

Creators cash out at 75 cents per credit. The difference covers the cost of processing the purchase of credit packs and running the service. For anything larger or more personal, a creator may prefer to point supporters to their direct payment links, where they keep the full amount. Many creators do both: credits for the quick, frequent things, direct links for subscriptions and custom work.

Creators can also decide how credits shape their messaging. Requiring credits per conversation filters out idle messages; requiring credits per message turns conversation itself into something a supporter values; leaving messaging free keeps the door open. Each setting suits a different kind of creator.

Credits or direct payment

A simple way to think about it:

  • Credits when speed matters, the amount is small, or the supporter wants to act in the moment.
  • Direct payment when the amount is larger, when the creator prefers to keep the full sum, or when the relationship is personal enough that a confirmation step is no obstacle.

Neither is required. Sanctum is free to use, and the platform is designed so that creators choose how they are paid and supporters choose how they pay.
